The material from Schott was ordered, the delivery address will be IFJ Krakow. Pawel will send the delivery papers after the glass arrives in Krakow. The expected delivery date is the first week of March. The IFJ group will glue the pins for the coating to the glass for 10 substrates, 5x 1,1 mm thickness and 5x0,7 mm thickness.
The week 17 - 21.3 a transport from Olomouc with 10 substrates and12 actuator pads) will be scheduled and on the way back, 10 front panels with the glued pins will be transported.
Meanwhile, the Olomouc group will try to measure the mechanical properties of the thin glass samples, mainly the hardness and scratch test for both sides of the samples, to understand the air and tin side properties. We agreed on the test of the small MST samples using Olomouc Nanoindentor to characterise the front-coated and back-coated mirror mechanical properties. The result will be published at the ICRC conference. The sample dimensions should be defined asap.
The current existing SST-1M back-coated sample will be measured using the CNC probe to characterise the surface profile and the waviness of the surface. Then, the mirror will be coated to compare the PSF of previously back-coated and newly front-coated solutions. After the tests, the same sample will be used for the impact test defined by the MTF CTA specification. After the tests, the front panel will be removed, and the substrate will be used again.
Actuators:
The design of the control board was built in Olomouc and tested together with the new control SW. It is working, and the position of the actuators can be read. The design of the new board is not finished yet. It will be finalised asap and provided to the IFJ. The IFJ will validate the functionality and produce a prototype. Later test will be done on the telescope.
