Description

The project Design and Development of Tools for IYPT Experiments focuses on the creation of versatile experimental equipment to support investigations of physics problems from the International Young Physicists' Tournament (IYPT). The work combines mechanical design, electronics, embedded programming, and additive manufacturing to develop reliable and affordable experimental tools. The developed systems are based on microcontrollers that interface with a variety of sensors for measuring physical quantities such as temperature, pressure, force, light intensity, voltage, current, and position. In addition to data acquisition, the microcontrollers control actuators—including stepper motors, solenoid valves, relays, and other electromechanical devices—to automate experimental procedures and ensure precise and repeatable operation. Custom mechanical components are designed using CAD software and manufactured by 3D printing, enabling rapid prototyping and easy adaptation of the equipment to the specific requirements of different IYPT problems. The resulting modular tools provide a flexible platform for experimental research, automated measurements, and data collection, allowing students to focus on the physical principles under investigation while improving the accuracy, repeatability, and efficiency of their experiments.
